Dr. Daniel Ramirez was born and raised in Miami, FL. Like many young boys he played baseball, basketball, football, soccer – just about anything he could – but at the age of 12 he found his true athletic passion was ice hockey. After graduating high school, Daniel pursued his passion and played NCAA hockey at Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania. It was there that he met his wife Kelly. The hockey player in him was disappointed when he learned she couldn’t skate, but the warmth she brought into his life made him love her anyway. Kelly and Daniel currently live in Los Gatos with their two sons: Ryan and Kaden.
During his collegiate years, Daniel suffered a groin injury and hip pain that ultimately ended his goalkeeping career but that did not deter him. He shifted gears and became a defensive forward, specializing in blocking shots and ultra-short shifts. Though this position was not as brutal on his hip, he would still find himself in pain after practices and games. Determined to overcome his pain, he dove into learning everything he could to fix himself. And this is how a Physical Therapist was born.
After years of his own therapy, Daniel is once again lucky enough to be playing competitive hockey – keeping up with former professional players on the ice and his two children and their athletic adventures off the ice – all without symptoms. This journey, combined with his grandmother’s selfless spirit and the Jesuit motto “Men for Others,” inspired him to keep learning and pursue his passion of helping others reach their full potential.
Dr. Daniel believes no one should have to play through pain without support, or give up on their life, passion, or hobby without the guidance of a specialized physical therapist. His goal is to help every person he can “Feel Good, Move Better, Live Their Best Life.”
